Haviland Limoges 'The Amstel' Bouillon Cups, Gold Pink Roses, Antique, Set of‎ 2

A pair of vintage Limoges porcelain bouillon cups with rose decoration. Limoges porcelain, originating from the city of Limoges in France, has been renowned for its quality and artistry since the late 18th century. The region became a major center for porcelain production, with numerous factories developing distinct styles and decorative techniques. Many Limoges pieces are hand-painted, featuring intricate floral designs, landscapes, and gilded accents, making them highly sought after by collectors. Bouillon cups, characterized by their smaller size and often wider opening compared to standard teacups, were specifically designed for serving rich, hot soups or broths. These cups, especially when decorated with fine artistry like the rose patterns seen here and accented with gold, were typically part of more formal dinnerware sets and reflect the elegance of dining during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
